marketing-team I’ve actually experienced excellent support from Lenovo with Fedora. I just boasted over here about my on-the-way delivery of a p14S preinstalled with Fedora. This will be my second “Fedora” Thinkpad. The 1st was a Carbon X1 gen 11, and i never needed any hardware support so that was mute. However interestingly i also had (now about 3 years back mind you) a Lenovo m75n with NO linux support.
It was an awesome super tiny desktop with AMD processor. First thing i did was dual boot with Fedora, and whoa, the wifi didnt work. A lot of research and fiddling to no avail. I bought an external Dlink USB wifi and figured i would just have to settle with that. But I did open a ticket with Intel and I was totally amazed. I sent them logs and about a week later they sent me a link to a updated firmware driver to test. It solved the issue and was also included in the next firware package.
The next issue was really Lenovo specific, and i cant remember all the details, but it related to the fwdupdtool. I couldnt update the bios. I opened a ticket with Lenovo linux support even though the machine was totally unsupported. They got back to me and asked for more info. As I recall there was some option missing from the bios that prevented that from working. Kind of a chicken egg problem. So they not only FIXED the bios to work with the fwdupdtool, they also walked me through manually updating my bios to get me on track.

I guess the user you mentioned meant, that the support for this computers to install Windows, in addition to preinstalled Fedora was not good.

I ordered my X1 Carbon Gen13 with Linux pre-installed. The only option was Workstation, but I changed it to COSMIC Atomic as soon as I got it out of the box. ThinkPads have truly outstanding hardware support for Linux, and Fedora in particular. I have never had an issue and COSMIC runs like a champ.
Completely agree - Lenovo has excellent support for the Thinkpad series. I have an X1 2-in-1 gen 10 and initially had some issues preventing BIOS update through fwupdmgr. This was resolved excellently through the Lenovo forums.
My only remaining issue is the fingerprint reader (ID 27c6:658c Shenzhen Goodix Technology Co.,Ltd. Goodix USB2.0 MISC) is very unreliable after waking from suspend, and I most of the time have to use my password (Fedora KDE).
