Hello, guys! I’ve upgraded my desktop to fedora 43 and noticed a change in the accent typing behavior.
Before the upgrade, to type a “~” or “´” in terminal I would tap the key twice.
Now, I have to use “alt gr + ~” should I don’t want a row of "~"s.
I don’t think this is a bug or something, so, i just want to know if there is some way of restoring the previous behavior (without needing a downgrade to fedora 42), as I use those keys pretty frequently…
ps1: I am a Brazilian guy, so, go easy on my english
ps2: The keyboard layout is Português (Brasil) / Brazilian Portuguese, probably for those using the system in english
You missed to mention what edition/spin are you using. I’m on GNOME 49 (Fedora Silverblue 43), and for testing purposes I’ve added Portuguese (Brasil) keyboard layout, and it’s working as you’d expect, with dead keys (i.e. hitting an accent sign and then space, or the same accent sign twice, will display the sign itself, otherwise displaying the accented letter, e.g. “õ”).
I also see a Portuguese (Brasil no dead keys), could it be that you’re using that layout now?
i’m having exactly the same problem in fedora 43 gnome49. I thought it was caused by the upgrade I did through the terminal, so I performed a clean installation, but the issue wasn’t resolved. My language is Portuguese (Brazil) ABNT2. It seems to be related to the complete removal of X11 — has anyone managed to fix it?
