Networks options "Unknown" after restarting windows and starting fedora

what I did was the following:

  • press restart on windows
  • wait until the “ASUS” thingy came up
  • press escape and boot into my fedora on my NVME that I attached via usb

what first happened was that the aspect ratios got bungled up. after restarting a few times, that was fixed but then I couldn’t access my internet at all.

I hope these photos could help understand my situation.

I would appreciate any help since the only thing that I know might fix this is reinstalling fedora entirely.

Have you tested to boot into an older kernel? Pressing ESC Key while booting should show you the Grub2 menu to choose.

Radio and sound devices often have problems when first using newer kernels. If your devices use “in-kernel” drivers they are less likely to have problems. You can compare the output from running inxi -Nzxx for your oldest and newest kernels to see if the driver is changed or missing.
