Hi, I’m new to Fedora (and Linux), just have around 6 weeks testing this OS.
I have an Acer Spin 3 laptop, with Fedora Workstation (single boot). System configuration:
Fedora and Kernel (latest updated today), 8gb ram, Intel Core i5 (11 gen) processor and Intel Iris XE integrated graphics.
This computer discharges very quickly even when it is off or in sleep mode, so I tried to try some tricks that I saw on Google to prevent it from consuming energy while it is inactive, but now, if I leave it on and it goes into sleep mode or if I close the lid while on, it does not react later. The screen keeps black, the fans start to work at maximum and it sounds very loud. The only way for it to react is to force it to shut down by pressing the power button for a few seconds, then reset the battery (with a paper clip, press the battery button on the bottom of the computer for 15 seconds), only if I do this can I get it to start again, otherwise, it will stay with a black screen.
This are all the commands I used before the problem begins.
cat /sys/power/mem_sleep
sudo nano /etc/default/grub
sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
sudo dnf update power-profiles-daemon
sudo dnf install power-profiles-daemon
sudo dnf install tlp tlp-rdw
sudo nmcli c modify MyNetwork 802-3-ethernet.wake-on-lan ignore
upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0
sudo systemctl mask tuned.service
sudo systemctl enable --now tlp.service
sudo systemctl unmask tuned.service
sudo systemctl enable --now tlp-pd.service
sudo systemctl disable --now power-profiles-daemon
sudo systemctl mask power-profiles-daemon
sudo systemctl disable --now tuned
sudo systemctl mask tuned
sudo dnf install --allowerasing tlp tlp-rdw
sudo systemctl enable --now tlp
Now I need help to go back to the previous state. I’m not sure of what I need to delete or reinstall to normalize it.
Thanks in advance.
