Mullvad VPN app is disrupting the CGroup hierarchy

Hello. Mullvad VPN application is disrupting or modifying the CGroup hierarchy in the systemctl status output. I have noticed that all system services are listed under the net_cls group. There doesn’t seem to be a issue with the systemd-cgls output. I found this report from a few years ago, but it seems like this issue hasn’t been resolved. Do you think there is a problem for those using the Mullvad VPN application on Fedora, or can continue to use the application?

If no one helps you here you will need to ask Mullvad VPN developers for help.

In Fedora I had Mullvad about 8/9 months ago and the support is very helpful. I had it for 1/2mese and it is very stable and safe. Now I have a subscription with Proton VPN and I regret a little Mullvad VPN

Actually, I thought Mullvad developers were aware of this issue and wouldn’t make any changes for now. I’m more curious about whether this issue breaks anything in Fedora. If it breaks something in the system or could break something in the future, it would be beneficial for users to stop using the app.

If it’s messing with control-groups and you are see unexpected issues then yes it’s a serious issue. control-groups is fundemental to the correct and secure operate of systemd that Fedora depends on.

Hi everyone.
I read a while ago that mullvad VPN had been rewritten in Rust and switched to cgroups2.
Do you have any confirmation, please?
Thank’s

Would you not be better off asking the Mullvad developers, if you require a definitive answer?
