Mouse cursor is not tied to Game Window

Hi Everyone!

I am running a quite fresh installation of Fedora Linux 42 (Workstation Edition)
GNOME 48 with a Linux 6.14.5-300.fc42.x86_64 kernel.
I have a multi monitor setup with 2 screens

I have installed the nvidia drivers like mentioned here Howto/NVIDIA - RPM Fusion

I have installed Wine via Terminal, proton via steam and ProtonGE via asdf (like mentioned on the GE github page)

So far I am able to use Steam, Heroic and Lutris like expected.

Now here is the issue:
When I start games the mouse cursor is not bound to the game window.
I have tested it via Steam (Team Fortress 2 and Nordhold, with Proton 9.0-4 and ProtonGE 10.1), also via Lutris (GOG Version of Prison Architect) and Heroic Games Launcher (Epic Version of Bloons TD6)
I assume that I have to make a tiny little setting with the Nvidia driver or similar and that it has nothing to do with the game launcher.

Hopefully you have clue and are able to help me as it is quite annoying espacially in any shooter

I’m quite sure that it’s nothing to do with the Nvidia drivers. I think it’s more a problem with how Wine/Proton integrates with Mutter, GNOME’s window manager. I have yet to find a solution to this other than unplugging the second monitor while playing games but that’s obviously not an ideal workaround.

I think this could be an issue with gamescope 3.16.4

downgrade to version 3.16.2

i did downgrade gamescope as suggested via “sudo dnf downgrade gamescope” from 3.16.4 to 3.16.2
Now is
gamescope --version
[gamescope] [Info] console: gamescope version (gcc 15.0.1)

unfortunately this did not change anything.
unplugging the monitor would be quite a workaround. But hope this is just a setting to be made properly.
On nobara I did not have this issue, therefore this is most likely just anything from my side to be set properly which is set by default on other installations.
