The problem affect inkscape from:

  • rpm fedora repository
  • flathub as flatpak.

Did you see this:
https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/font-rendering-bug-all-characters-in-system-programs-are-rendered-as-hexadecimal-boxes/76760

Thanks. No those folders in the system

[chris@f34 ~]$ ls .font*
ls: cannot access '.font*': No such file or directory
[chris@f34 ~]$

Did you upgrade or have you made a new installation?

Mine was a new installation while it was testing. I tested in Inkscape, mine looks good (rpm fedora).

I just have:

A fresh new installation of fedora 34 workstation

Thanks. I have removed 2 packages and the problem take off.
Solution:

sudo dnf remove julietaula-montserrat-fonts-common julietaula-montserrat-base-web-fonts

In other hand, why are those packages producing discomfort?
