@vekruse & @computersavvy, I seem to have caused more confusion than clarity… I was only referring to the Nvidia how-to for general reference as it was the closest I could find to what I (thought) I was doing - what I’m trying to install are the RPMs with drivers for Tuxedo machines, in particular the Motorcom yt6801ethernet driver : https://rpm.tuxedocomputers.com/

This appears to be a dkms module, which keeps the key in a different space. The guid host to deal with the secure boot keys can be found at dkms/README.md at main · dell/dkms · GitHub.

Packages installed from rpmfusion use akmods to compile their drivers and the instructions you found apply to using that method for compiling and installation.

Many other sources use dkms to compile and sign the modules so the instructions are different as indicated above.

I guess that’s the point of friction… It’s so easy when you know.
