So i’m using a razer headset, that comes with a microphone. on Fedora 44 KDE edition
for microphone settings in discord, it only shows:
Ryzen HD Audio Controller analog sterio
for some reason its’ not detecting my razer headset, and when i’m using voicechat in discord it sounds wack, like i’m underwater or seomthing.
it uses jacks (i think that’s what they’re called) NOT USB. It has the two jacks, pink and green that i plug into my computer
My microphone worked fine with Gnome, it’s not working i’m on KDE Plasma now… (i did a fresh install of Fedora KDE version, and it’s not working since, it worked fine with gnome, detecting the razer headset) ( was originally on gnome workstation)
Also sometimes when i unplug them and replug them, my monitor goes black as if it’s not being detected
Outside of Discord, what does KDE say about the audio devices?
First thing to do is to make sure that your headset is working fine. Plug the mic into an audio deck or something suitable.
A mic cable on a typical headset is fairly thin and made of just a small number of stranded copper wires. If it’s damaged, it can cause the effect you’re describing.

Boot a copy of F44 with GNOME from a USB stick to test the audio hardware.
Outside Discord it doesnt detect the headset either (like i said, i think it’s a KDE Issue)
Like i said, the headset worked fine on gnome, just like a week ago i made the switch. So yes the headset works, was working fine/detecting it on gnome. Also the quality was good.
