Meta+L: Computer suspends instead of locking

Well, it’s not by design that the system suspends — it should just turn the screen off. But it seems like your system may not be able to do that safely.

I don’ t want to start a flame war and I’m happy this issue has been solved, but Meta+L has worked as expected in Fedora KDE, KDE Neon, Linux Mint and other Linux distros on the same hardware. No matter how we slice it Gnome or at least Fedora Gnome is the exception. Anyway credit must be paid where credit is due, Fedora is the best distro I have experienced so far.

I also do not intend for arguing to start.
However, I have used gnome almost exclusively and the ‘super + L’ combination works flawlessly and has for a long time.

It may be related to gnome on your system, but seems not to be standard or ‘by design’ that way. I think something has been set differently that has not yet been identified.
