Maya and Blackmagic Resolve can't see other harddrives

Hi there,

I have just installed Fedora and got Blackmagic Resolve and Autodesk Maya upand running as well as V-Ray.

So far so good.

The problem is that neither software can see my other mounted hard drives. I can browse the drives in the gui or the terminal and don’t seem to have any permissions issues. But from within Resolve or Maya I cannot access the files.

Not sure what to do about this, I have seen some similar issues posted for Plex but not sure if or how the solutions might be applicable to my case.
Here is an fdisk output:

fdisk -l
fdisk: cannot open /dev/sda: Permission denied
fdisk: cannot open /dev/sdb: Permission denied
fdisk: cannot open /dev/sdc: Permission denied
fdisk: cannot open /dev/mapper/fedora_localhost–live-root: Permission denied
fdisk: cannot open /dev/mapper/fedora_localhost–live-swap: Permission denied
fdisk: cannot open /dev/mapper/fedora_localhost–live-home: Permission denied
fdisk: cannot open /dev/mapper/mint–vg-root: Permission denied
fdisk: cannot open /dev/mapper/mint–vg-swap_1: Permission denied

Yet the gui shows Create and Delete and ll from the Terminal shows on the folders shows drwxrwxrwx across the board.

Hope there is someone here who can help me.

Cheers,

Daniel
