I’m not sure if this is just true for me or for others too, but I updated from F42 → F43 KDE a few hours back, and my CPU temperature has gone down by about 10 degrees (c). This I was not expecting, and such a cool improvement to Fedora. Thank you Fedora team :slightly_smiling_face:

Using F43 on 2 devices. My Laptop got a new installation and my PC got upgraded from F42. Both are running on KDE Plasma. I didn’t have any big issues so far. Great release. Thank you all!

I’ll chime in with the “Me too”… :slightly_smiling_face:

“Distro-hopping” never even crosses my mind… :laptop:

Thank You Fedora Team… :fedora:

The closest I get to distro-hopping these days is using RHEL docs

Absolutely boring upgrade – and I mean it in the best way possible. I upgraded from the command line, and just rebooted to a fully working system. Kudos and thanks to all involved!

My mileage varied. Back on a fresh install of Fedora 42.

I upgraded using the terminal. I got a few red “key mismatch” errors during the download, but it proceede. I could boot and log into the new desktop, but immediately, several icons on the dock to the right of the Firefox icon (Files, etc.) just were black, then a few were visible again. Firefox would not start after clicking the icon. Other apps started (including Files from the “black” icon. Increasingly more icons turned black.

Then I downloaded the Fedora 43 iso. At first, I attempted a reinstall-in-place. The installer refused: it now requires 2 GB for /boot, and the size of my boot still was that set by earlier Fedora versions.

Thus I performed a fresh install - wiping everything. All appeared good. I update packages - again a few red messages - and, yes, the issue reappeared. First time I could load Firefox, later it did not load anymore.

So I ended with a fresh install from my Fedora 42 USB…

I will try again soon, but certainly not proceed if I again see red messages at some point.
