Login Problem (Fedora 43 KDE Plasma)

Can’t login as admin to my Fedora 43 KDE Plasma Laptop.
My wife and me are using an hp laptop.
My wife has a normal user account, my account has admin rights.
All of sudden I can’t login to my account (i am sure that i use the correct password).
I can login with the account of my wife and using it, I tried to change the password of my account - i could enter a new password and confirm the security question (sudo password) without problems - but I still can’t login.
I created an another admin account, but with it I can’t login either.
Any ideas?

This could be a hardware problem or corrupt filesystem. You should avoid writing on the system drive until you have done some checks using a Live USB. In such situations I make it a priority to use the Live Environment to save an image of the system drive in case repair attempts fail. There are probably useful details in the journal. You can use journalctl —directory … to view the journal on the system drive after mounting it (read-only!) in a Live environment. You will want to look for problems in the journal for the boot prior to discovering the change. If you are not familiar with the journal, start with https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/viewing-logs/. https://uptimerobot.com/knowledge-hub/logging/journalctl-explained-how-to-view-and-analyze-systemd-logs/#viewing-all-logs has additional examples.

Thank you for your support. Since I had not much time I removed the linux partitions and installed Fedora 44 (I wanted to upgrade anyway). It seems to work fine now.

Its solved for now.

Thank you again
