Llvmpipe is used instead of gpu

Hello, I’ve installed Fedora Kinoite on an old system.
It has a Pentium E5200 and ATI Radeon HD 4650 (RV730 PRO)

I have two problems which I think are related.

On the first version( 42.1.1), everything works fine but since I’ve updated to the latest (42.2025.06.19), there’s a problem.

In Plasma Settings About this system, the GPU is displayed as llvmpipe.
However, I’m not sure it’s really using llvmpipe, because in the information center “Window manager” it says “OpenGL renderer string: AMD RV730…”
And also in this latest version a lot of webpages are crashing in firefox.

What can I do to check if it’s really using llvmpipe or no ?

Ok so after hours of binary seach, I’ve found that the problem appears in the 42.20250417.0 to 42.20250419.0 update.

I can’t seem to intall 42.20250418.0, so here’s the changes between those two versions :

Can you make sure that you ran the diff between the two exact versions? I don’t see mesa, the kernel or generally graphics related packages being updated there it’s unlikely to be the cause of the issue.

The strange thing is that there isn’t any performance difference.
In Minecraft, in both versions I get the same FPS (Minecraft reports using the GPU).
I’m not an expert but I think maybe Plasma is just reporting using the wrong GPU ?
Or is it possible that maybe Minecraft is using the GPU, but Plasma is rendering with the CPU in the second case.

I’m trying to see which package is causing this problem.
However, when I use rpm-ostree override replace ./qt6-qtwayland-6.8.2.fc42.x89_64, it can’t resolve dependencies, because it is trying to do so against the latest version of Kinoite, and not the one currently deployed.

What can I do to just change the package I want and not update everything ?

The problem was that my first deployment is the one that is used when doing override. Not the latest.

I can’t seem to figure out how install any package.

What I need to do each time :
Downloading the rpm file
Changing it’s version using rpmrebuild
But when I install it usign rpm-ostree override replace ./file.rpm, it just says :

Inactive base replacements:
  firefox..

And when I reboot it’s still using the package from the system and not the one I provided.
Even if I do rpm-ostree status it doesn’t show up as a layered or replaced package.

I’ve just found out that I have the EXACT same problem with another PC I have, this time an old Intel.
It has an Intel i7 2960XM.
I’m not sure what’s in common with those two PCs, apart from the fact that they both don’t support Vulkan using anything other than llvmpipe.
