Linesty Icon Theme - a Papirus-based icon theme for COSMIC

I’m a daily user of the COSMIC desktop, and I wanted to give it a more consistent and polished look through an icon theme.

I really like the design concept of the Papirus icon theme, and its extensive application coverage is a major advantage as well. Papirus is therefore the main foundation of Linesty. However, it does not integrate perfectly with the COSMIC desktop. Some system icons are missing, some are displayed at incorrect sizes, and others simply don’t fit the COSMIC environment particularly well.

This led me to create Linesty Icon Theme, primarily based on Papirus while also making use of COSMIC’s own icons where they provide a better fit. At the moment, all application icons are from Papirus, with a large number of additional symlinks added where needed. The system icons are a combination of COSMIC icons, Papirus icons, and icons that I have adapted myself.

The icon theme is still under active development and refinement, but it is already mature enough for everyday use.

I’d be very interested to hear what other COSMIC users think. Feedback, suggestions for improvements, and reports of missing or inconsistent icons are all very welcome. I’m not a professional graphic designer myself, so help from people with stronger graphic design or SVG skills would be especially appreciated. If you enjoy creating icons or would like to help improve the visual side of the theme, I’d be very happy to hear from you.

Why this link utm_source=chatgpt.com? What exactly does that mean? Are AI bots posting here on the forum? Or did I misunderstand something?

Thanks for pointing this out!

English isn’t my first language, so I used ChatGPT to help me prepare the English version of the post. I didn’t notice that it had added the utm_source=chatgpt.com parameter to the GitHub link. That was unnecessary, and I’ve removed it now.

It has nothing to do with any bots posting on the forum. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for catching it!

Thanks, got it. It’s just a translation. Unfortunately, ChatGPT is part of Big Tech and has close ties to Trump. For translations, I recommend DeepL AI Platform: Translation, Voice & API

As an alternative to ChatGPT, I highly recommend Lumo: Privacy-first AI assistant where chats stay confidential . Lumo is very good at debugging and programming. Proton is generally a company worth recommending; I also use their email service.

Thanks for the info!
