Librewolf's screenshot tool cannot paste to clipboard

Hello friends,

I’ve been using Fedora 42 happily without any problems. Two days ago, I upgraded to Fedora 43.

Since then, Librewolf browser’s screenshot tool cannot paste images directly to Telegram. LibreWolf is basically a fork of Firefox - same but with better privacy. Same versioning system.

Before, it was working fine. When I am trying to paste to GIMP, it says:
There is no image data in the clipboard to paste.

Gwenview says this when I am trying to paste:

I click OK and nothing happens. Maybe Librewolf is filling clipboard with some wrong format data, or just a filename instead of content?

Above you can see Librewolf’s screenshot tool - Copy function basically does not work anymore. I cannot paste anything from it, I have to use Download if I want to use that tool.

Anyone else is experiencing this problem? Versions of packages mentioned:

librewolf-144.0.2-1.x86_64 (dnf)

Telegram 6.2.4 (flatpak)

GIMP 3.0.6 (dnf)

Gwenview 25.08.2 (dnf)

System details:

Operating System: Fedora Linux 43
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0
Qt Version: 6.10.0
Kernel Version: 6.17.6-300.fc43.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 32 × AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor
Memory: 64 GiB of RAM (62.7 GiB usable)
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
Product Name: X570 Steel Legend

Can anyone test Firefox screenshot tool? So that we can determine if this is Fedora-system-wide, or LibreWolf-only problem. Thank you.

Why not install Firefox and test this yourself?

Works on firefox.

I figured it out. It’s firejail! I forgot completely that I use firejail to contain my browser, using the shortcut.

Something in firejail has changed, and now it cannot export image through clipboard. Maybe a security improvement, I hope I can turn it off. I will investigate further.

Thanks for confirming. It works for me too, and in Librewolf (without firejail) as well. I forgot about firejail, that’s the cause of it.

I could not figure it out, so far.

firejail firefox works, but
firejail librewolf does not.

I tried new browser profiles too. Something in /etc/firejail/librewolf.profile is incompatible with whatever changes LibreWolf devs implemented over vanilla Firefox? I don’t know.
