LibreOffice corrupted Calc files after upgrade to 7.1.7-100.FC43

After “dnf upgrade --refresh” which installed 7.1.7-100.fc43 (along with a lot of other packages) on a fairly new install (6 weeks old) on F43 KDE my Libre Office Calc file show corruption that is not recoverable. I have 12 spreadsheet I update weekly and all are now destroyed. I’m trying to determine if the files are good that are on backup. But this seems clearly a problem with the latest update.

Not hearing report from other uses.
Given you are seeing at least two odd things on your system I would be think that you have a hardware issue.

Do you have errors in sudo dmesg?
You might want to run a memory test.

No errors in dmesg., After second restart some of my Calc files will open, but then LibreOffice crashes. The same files from my backup give the same error. It seems something has trashed several calc files.

The top two possibilities are corrupt file on disk or hardware memory issue.

Running sudo rpm -qVa will check that the installed files match the checksums in RPM packages. You will see some files reported, but should not see anything for an /usr/bin of .so files.

I’d recommend you install memtest86+.x86_64, reboot and choose it from the grub menu. Then run the test over night. A short run may not find a problem that does exist.
