Libre Office 6 available on Fedora repositories?

Hey guys! Does Fedora only ship the Fresh version of Libre Office? Does not ship the Stable 6.x version on the official repositories? Can’t find it on Fedora 33.

Thanks!

Apparently yes, regards to RPM.

But you can try to use Flatpak, AppImage or RPM from the official site, e.g.:

flatpak install org.libreoffice.LibreOffice//stable

Do you know if there is any specific reason for Fedora only use Libre Office Fresh on the repositories?

I can guess:

  • LibreOffice 7.0.3 is the third bugfix release of the fresh line which is recommended for technology enthusiasts and already available in the testing repository for Fedora 33.
  • Significant number of Fedora users prefer to use new software releases and consider the fresh branch of LibreOffice stable enough.
  • Major package version change might be undesirable and problematic during Fedora release lifetime.
