LG HDR 4k Monitor - Random blank screen for a second

Hi, I am using wayland and a LG 4k Monitor at 60 Hz referesh rate connected via display port and I have random blank screens. It looks like a synchronization issue. After 2 seconds, the screens comes back. A reboot sometimes solves this issues.

The same monitor was used for more as a year with the resolution set to 2560x1440 and letting the monitor scale up without any trouble. After the screen scaling is official supported, I switched to 3840x2160@60Hz and got the issue.

My guess is that the sync time is to tight or not read out correctly. Does someone know whether I can fine tune the DP connection or something else?

OS: Fedora Linux 42 (Workstation Edition)

Best Regards

Can you try another cable? You can look for relevant details at the time the screen blanks using journalctl’s “follow” option.

The monitor is used on a Windows computer using a KVM switch in 4k and I have no issues with the same set of cables. Both, the cable as well as the KVM are 4k certified and of descent quality. Swapped the cables and the port some time a go with no success.

journalctl returns to me some warnings from gnome regarding keyring, terminal and contacts. I guess, those are not the reason as long as those daemons will not consume too much cpu at that moment. I will fix those errors later.
