Lenovo-Fedora world domination plan

how a free OS can be taxed?, dell here sells laptops with Ubuntu and like my laptop, it’s cheaper than windows because it don’t need to pay microsoft, i think is lack of coordination, or just no one wanting to mess with it

Not the OS, the Hardware it runs on it is taxed. The Lenovo with Fedora preinstalled costed 3 years ago:

The base price starts at $1,392.60 USD with the Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU, 8GB RAM, 256 GB SSD storage, and Full HD display. If you want the 4K display, an i7 CPU, 32 GB RAM, and 1TB storage, you’ll have to pay up to $2,286 USD for this Linux laptop.

Now you can make the calculation on your own … taking 6.6 local currency per dollar. That is the value the hardware without taxes costs. Then there are still the import fees and the taxes (for the consumer).

I do not think that this are attractive prices for such a device. This are some reasons why we do not see them here in Brazil. Definitely we not just can blame Lenovo to forget us on the world domination plan
