I am encountering issues with the touchpad as well the dedicated extra buttons on my Thinkpad P14s (2nd gen) where after waking up from suspend left clicks stop working (seemingly only when plugged into power though). This only happens occasionally, making this issue quite hard to reproduce. I was able to confirm that libinput debug-events still registers the left mouse clicks, which seems to indicate to me that this is a wayland or gnome issue.
My current workaround is that I mapped Ctrl+F11 to enable/disable the touchpad via gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.touchpad send-events and disabling, then reenabling the touchpad fixes the issue. I usually have to do that again after the next time waking up from sleep though.
What I tried so far:
- 16.04 - Mouse & Touchpad buttons change function after suspend/hibernate - Ask Ubuntu suggested adding
i8042.noloop i8042.nopnp i8042.resetto GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT, but that didn’t have any effect - found Reddit - Dive into anything which suggested disabling gnome extensions which I did, but no success
- following laptop - Left Mouse sometimes stops working after Sleep - Ask Ubuntu I tried doing
modprobe -r psmouse, but that doesn’t seem to work on Fedora. I am also not using xserver but wayland so the other suggestions don’t seem relevant - I can’t find where this was suggested but I also tried changing the sleep state mode in the bios from Linux to Windows and messing with /usr/lib/systemd/system/service.d/50-keep-warm.conf, but no success here either
Any suggestions what I could try to narrow down the issue the next time this happens?
