Latest kernel forces my system to recognize a floppy that i don't have

Hello. After the last update to the newest kernel 5.4.7-200.fc31.x86_64 i noticed that my system reports a floppy drive. I use this PC for 8 years, and i’ m pretty sure it doesn’t have one. Here are some info:

$ dmesg | grep fd0
[    2.563654] Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M

$ lsblk
NAME            MAJ:MIN RM   SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
fd0               2:0    1     4K  0 disk

I don’t really mind this mess, just posting with the hope of, what ever is causing it (kernel/modules/udev) to be corrected in a future update.

PS: Did your attempted to mount this floppy?

Kernel 5.4.8-200.fc31.x86_64 installed, but that magical floppy is still present :rofl:

Recently i’ve connected my another mobile phone (Nokia 2, TA-1029) to computer in the charging mode.

My computer claims, that there is an CD-ROM:

I had a weird dream, that i got frustrated and did a fresh Debian install. When it finished, and logged in, the floppy was still there :scream:

Anyway, i opened a ticket. I don’t expect much. Probably i’ ll have to wait until April for Fedora 32.
