Laptop Not Charging (Fedora 41)

Hello,

I use a Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X running Fedora 41.

A couple months ago I experienced an issue in which no matter what charger I used, the battery just maintained power or, at best, charged hundreds of times slower than usual. That issue went away so I thought it was just a software glitch.

Now it’s back… my current time to a full charge is 92 hrs on a 100W charger, and the upower statistics show a charge rate of 0.1W.

Is it possible that this is a software related issue, or does it seem like a hardware one? I’m just confused.

Thanks in advance for your help!

The charging of laptops is software independant.
There is a logic chip in the motherboard that controls the battery.

Therefore it could either be 1) The hardware (firmware) controller, 2) The battery, 3) The charger, 4) The charger cable.

I did a search for ‘lenovo battery charge problem slow’
maybe you could try the ideas here https://www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-pc-battery-charging-slowly such as upgrading BIOS or doing a hard reset.
