Hey all!
I have an Asus TUF A16 Laptop (FA617NTR), which is currently running the Fedora 41 KDE spin. Everything appears to work fine on it when using most Linux distros… besides the display. Whenever I move the mouse cursor, the display seems to be fairly unresponsive. Here is a video so that you can see what I mean: https://youtu.be/IDes4yxgf5A - I can only get this to occur if I move the mouse. If I only use the keyboard, there is no display lag.
For a while, I was using this laptop with an external display as the issue didn’t appear anywhere besides the built-in display. However, I found out recently that setting Adaptive Sync in the KDE settings to Always mostly fixes the problem. The lag still occurs on the login screen, but that’s not a huge issue. Switching it back to Never or Automatic and the lag returns.
Is this normal behaviour for some laptops or displays? I do want to switch to a different desktop environment like XFCE, but I’m unsure if it has the same setting for my display.
More details about the machine if needed:
