This even results in abrt not working, bug reports immediately crash the desktop so I can’t even report the bug. I think I was able to send a few reports with abrt-cli report <id>
Another odd thing is that simply running kinfo will crash the plasmashell and sddm will not work, I had to disable sddm and go to gdm to login.

I suggest if you’re on Fedora 42 and using kwin-wayland 6.3.2.1-1 do not upgrade to 6.3.2.1-2 and wait for the next one.

Please report as a bug on the fedora bugtracker.

Note: Fedora 42 is not yet in beta as there are tooo many blocker bugs at the moment.

this is very much not contained to f42 it also has the same effects on f41 so much in fact that i had to go back to the x11 plasma package just to have a stable desktop again

if you already opened a bug report please provide a link

Same problem. Kwin crashed every time i tried to open Chrome. Downgrading to the previous version solved it for me:

sudo dnf downgrade https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/kwin/6.3.2.1/1.fc41/x86_64/kwin-6.3.2.1-1.fc41.x86_64.rpm https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/kwin/6.3.2.1/1.fc41/x86_64/kwin-common-6.3.2.1-1.fc41.x86_64.rpm https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/kwin/6.3.2.1/1.fc41/x86_64/kwin-libs-6.3.2.1-1.fc41.x86_64.rpm https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/kwin/6.3.2.1/1.fc41/x86_64/kwin-wayland-6.3.2.1-1.fc41.x86_64.rpm

Are you guys on AMD cards? Or is anyone crashing on nvidia?
