It looks like Plasma was upgrade to 6.7.0 and KWin is crashing when I go to plug in my Dell D6000 docking station. I am wondering if this could be a timing issue with a new displaylink driver rpm needing to be released.
I am using copr crashdummy/Displaylink for displaylink rpm packages
I also have a kwin_trace and a journalctl output but not sure where, how, the best way to share those text/logs. Just dump them in here?

Today I backuped my stuff and tried a new installation (this time with btrfs snapshot enabled) but the problem remains. Install the driver > plug the usb monitor > Kwin / Plasma / plasma-keyboard goes crazy and everything stop working.
@t_bees and @f44-tux - While I am disappointed that there is an issue I am glad it’s not just me and that there looks to be some understanding of an issue.
I am willing to help with logs or other testing I am in no way a developer
I will keep my eyes on available updates and patches and will see if I am able to follow the tickets linked.
@t_bees - I was using the GitHub RPM packages prior to moving to the copr repo I mentioned in my 1st post. Last I checked the rpms were/are very similar. The copr package is 1.14.16**-3** vs the Github being -1. I believe that last value is a build/packaging value, but I am not an expert on this by any means.
Well, to my luck I’ve an HDMI monitor so I’m using it to replace my usb one. Let’s wait and see if this bizarre kwin/evdi crash gets solved in a near future.
The biggest lesson I learned was that I now have Snapper enabled to take / and /home snapshots, copy my Firefox .profile to save my browser workflow and started using Konsave to backup my KDE .config files
I will need to look at these tools you mentioned. My laptop is a Framework 13 so I switched out one of the expansion cards to HDMI for now. This means I plug in a USBC charger and and HDMI cable vs the dock USBC for everything. It will work fine for now, but I do hope this gets resolved.
@f44-tux@t_bees - I upgraded today and noticed a large number of kde/plasma related patches as well as a kernel upgrade. I don’t have the time right now to figure out which specific update(s) fixed my issue, but my dock seems to be working now. Below you will find my upgrade package list. I would be interested to hear if these upgrades solve the issues you both are seeing/saw. Hopefully this helps others as well.
@f44-tux thanks for linking the KDE Blogs. I will review the different bug tickets mentioned. While it was a bit of a pain I am glad the fixes seem to have been completed pretty quickly
