Krita freezing on F35?

I have been using Krita, installed as a flatpak, for a while, and recently it has started freezing when trying to create a new document.

  • The application comes up and shows the initial screen.
  • I can select “New file” either from under the “Start” heading or via the “File” menu
  • This brings up the “Create new document” dialog
  • Clicking the “Create” button causes the application to freeze. At this point I need to force quit it.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

This is with:

$ flatpak list | grep krita
Krita org.kde.krita 5.1.0 stable flathub system

And:

$ uname -r
5.19.4-100.fc35.x86_64

And:

$ xrandr  |grep -i connected
XWAYLAND0 connected primary 1920x1200+1920+371 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 550mm x 350mm
XWAYLAND1 connected 1200x1920+3840+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 350mm x 550mm
XWAYLAND2 connected 1920x1080+0+491 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 290mm x 170mm

If this is the flatpak from FlatHub, it’s best to file an issue there since these Flatpaks are not built nor maintained by the Fedora community:

You could try the Fedora package in the meantime, but note that it’s not 5.1 in stable Fedora Linux releases yet:
