The first rule of XLibre Copr is: You do not talk about XLibre Copr.
Second rule of XLibre Copr is: You do not. talk. about. XLibre Copr.

Right? :smiley: :wink:

It is just that there is no point talking about it as long as there are not any builds in it. There will be announcements with plenty of room for discussion when it is ready.

So I have the server and about half of the drivers built now, for Fedora 43 (Branched) and Rawhide only. Might even work for some people, but I would not recommend using this still. Give me a few more days and I will have it all built, probably also for Fedora 42.

That sounds very good! Some people are already looking forward to running XLibre on Fedora. In case you need any support, please let me know.

The Copr is ready for testing now (but still completely untested). Announcement here:

Proof that this is working:

There is a new GitHub Gist for setting up Fedora 42 XFCE with LUKS encryption and XLibre in VirtualBox at Fedora 42 XFCE Xlibre LUKS Setup.

Hello @kkofler … just wanted to let you know I did a bit of a hack on OpenSuse TW/XFCE in a VM with your RPM’s from the RawHide directory and it worked.

Here is exactly what I did (contains screenshot for proof) … since that screenshot I’ve done a zypper dup 3 times and am currently at

windeath:/home/dart # cat /etc/os-release
NAME="openSUSE Tumbleweed"
# VERSION="20251205"
ID="opensuse-tumbleweed"

I’m no coder or maintainer myself but we do have OBS just in case anyone was interested in creating a TW version :crossed_fingers: :grinning_face:

At any rate thank you for the RPM’s :+1:

Running it on my TW daily driver right now … XFCE/KDE both work fine … check the above referenced thread for more screenshots

@kkofler thank you very much for those packages. but those are now already rather old, can you please :pleading_face: add the latest packages?

I would also appreciate newer packages. I would like to test Xlibre on Fedora and RHEL/AlmaLinux etc.

We have now set up a FAS group xlibre and a new group-owned Copr: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/g/xlibre/xlibre-xserver/

All members of the xlibre group are allowed to push packages to the Copr.

Current members of the group are @andersrh, @callmetango and me (@kkofler). If you want to help out with the package maintenance, please reach out to me to be added to the group.

The group-owned Copr already has newer XLibre packages than mine thanks to @andersrh. Therefore, the kkofler/xlibre-xserver Copr is deprecated.

Thank you for your understanding.
