Keyboard input -- does not work in some windows 6.7.6 or 6.7.7

After upgrading to kernel 6.7.6 or 6.7.7, the keyboard input is not regognized in some windows. I have Brave browser and VS Code where the input is not detected. I’m able to use the keyboard in Firefox and the desktop.
It seems to be related to opening the VMWare remote console.

Just in the last scentence you dropped you are using VMWare. What setup do you use, please add some infos. Wayland or XOrg?

Using Wayland

and what about this VMWare console?

I have not used it as it is proprietary and virt-manager works well.

This may likely be an issue with VMWare catching your input, but please add infos and try to reproduce it with VMWare not running.

also run those mentioned apps from the terminal, and have a running journalctl open

journalctl -f --priority err
