Looking at two Lenovo laptops booting to KDE login screen.
One laptop is running OpenSUSE Tumbleweed the other started with F43, now running F44 beta since it became available (without any issues I might add)
When Tumbleweed boots and is left unattended to the KDE login screen in a few minutes the power management kicks in and the screen turns off.
On F43/44 the screen stays on indefinitely if left at the KDE login screen with no user logged on. However logging in and locking the session will turn the screen off within minutes after the session is locked.
What should I do to have the screen power management kick in when rebooting the F44 laptop even if there’s no user logged on?
Same problem here, with a slight variation. On two fresh installs of F44 from the release ISO (1 - Lenovo T14 laptop w/Intel on-board GPU, 1 - Asus desktop w/Intel ARC B580), Plasma Login Manager does not turn off either screen if I leave them alone after boot. However, if I hit the esc key at the login screen, both screens will blank and then power off. So, it seems that screen power management is working. It’s just not triggered by time. This is better than earlier versions, which would never power off either screen, no matter what I tried.
This makes me wonder if there is a setting I have overlooked? I’ll dig around and see what I can find, but if someone knows the answer, in the meantime…
