Good morning! Is there a piece of software like “Disks” in KDE that can be used to change the password on an encrypted drive after installation, or would I need to use the command line in order to make that change?
I don’t know if there is a gui to work on the crypt setup, I have always used the command line tools.
A LUK2 encrypted disk can have more than one passphrase associated with an encrypted partition.
What I do when updating a passphrase is first add a new entry with the new passphrase, leaving the original passphrase in place.
Then I reboot and check that the new passphrase works to unlock the disk.
Only then do I delete the original passphrase entry.
This means that an error setting up the new passphrase is not fatal as you can unlock with the old passphrase and try again.
