[KDE] Gear (Apps) 26.08.0 is out!

The KDE Plasma Edition SiG is happy to annnounce that the update to the KDE apps (“Gear”) is built, and ready to be released: Making sure you're not a bot!

For those able to test it, please do test it on bare metal or in virtual machines and submit karma to make it available to stable as soon as possible.

Do note that this update is available on F44+ only.

Found a strange bug in Dolphin 26.08.0: when configured to use Details mode, when opened via CLI or from any other applications (Konsole for example), icons are missing.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Menu button - Configure - Configure Dolphin - View tab - General - Remember display style for each folder - Apply. Restart Dolphin.
  2. Configure Dolphin to use Details mode.
  3. Open any directory from terminal: dolphin ~/.config.
  4. File and directory icons will not be displayed.

Workaround: change View mode to Icons and back to Details. Icons will be visible again.

That one has a fix coming in 26.08.1 - bug ticket and KDE forum discussion.

Great. Thanks for the info. I’ll build a fixed version for myself in mock with this patch.
