Some time ago I made the post “A10-7870k GPU integrated graphics not working ANYMORE”, which among others led me to make a bug report on “le proper page” (it got immediately shut down with “same issue as” and “fixed + merged”; understandable, but my opinion is not what’s important here).
I wanted to report the fact that the Kaveri iGPU I am using on one of my computers is starting to malfunction again.
.
This time Desktop use seems normal (and to be honest the problems started appearing some time ago, but I was sick so I couldn’t focus on it), but there are some strange behaviors:
I mainly game and use the desktop stuff on there, I don’t use professional software, so I can only report on that.
- OpenGL glitches and lacks some functions. In games like Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 “the lighting is flatter” and some textures are missing, replaced with pure black (like the doors, seems to be with destructible objects and objects not “backed in the map”).
- Vulkan doesn’t seem to be working properly. Even when running Quake Remaster under Proton it now gets just 15 FPS with everything on low.
Right now I both have little time for this and I still am somewhat sick, so I can’t clearly think about this issue on its own (I am lucky that since it’s not crucial for me I am not in a hurry),
but I’d like for this to get solved.
.
I am in absolute ignorance about Mesa Drivers development and thus its developers, so I won’t dare share opinions or comments about this.
If anything, I’d like to know why cases like Kaveri Graphics have started having problems since Mesa 25?
