As we test the Beta release of Fedora Linux 35, I am pleased to announce we will celebrate the final release of Fedora Linux 35 with a virtual Release Party. Please register on Hopin and join us on November 12th & 13th for a short program of informational sessions and social activities. Make sure to save the dates, share the registration, and show up for Fedora Friends & Fun!
Informational sessions will feature updates about GNOME, our new Element instance, and a bunch more current community activities. Fedora Project LeaderMatthew Miller will also be giving his “35 Releases in 30 Minutes” talk. Last, but certainly not least, we will be hanging out in the Fedora Museum WorkAdventure for our Hallway track. Thanks to our amazing community for all your contributions to the latest release of Fedora Linux. Let’s party!
Here is a short description: > In the immersive world of Beat The Bomb, you’ll navigate your way through puzzles and games that will test your team’s ability to communicate and work seamlessly together. Rack up as many points as you can in the first 2 games to earn time for the final challenge to defuse The Bomb. Then see how you stack up on the Leaderboard.
This should be a lot of fun and we hope plenty of people can join! I am writing this thread today for a couple reasons:
To raise awareness that we are doing an extra event at the RP(we’d love to have you there!)
To poll folks for what time would work best(see poll below). Please reply by next Wednesday the 27th.
To brainstorm team names(add your ideas to the thread )
Poll: What is the best time slot to schedule the Beat the Bomb activity?
I have closed the poll, thanks to everyone who voted! It looks like the event will be on Friday, I will need to confirm the 15:00 UTC time with the vendor but I don’t foresee an issue. See ya’ll there!
Follow the instructions on the screen - use the same name in Zoom and in the Game so we know who you are!
You will end up in a Lobby with your Team Name(s) - please wait for your Host before Joining a Team
YOUR MISSION:
You will play 3 Games:
Sequencer - a numbers and memory game (10 mins)
Echo Chamber - a music and communication game (10 mins)
Cyberbot - a team communication game (3 mins + Earned Bomb Time)
Your objective is to earn as much Bomb Time as possible in the first 2 games in order to maximize your chances of Beating The Bomb and to secure a top spot on the Leaderboard. With introductions and a debrief at the end, the total experience will last ~45 minutes.
Heads up to the Beat the Bomb players: There will be a Confirmation Code for our event, which you can find in the Hopin Session titled “Beat the Bomb Game Portal”. This session will show up under the “Sessions” tab in Hopin 5 minutes before the scheduled time.
