Is there updated documentation for building in mock?

Many moons ago in the CentOS 7 days, I used mock extensively to maintain some add-on package repositories, mostly for me but others used them too, one was for modern versions of server software (and linking against LibreSSL instead of OpenSSL) and one for a modern multimedia stack.

When CentOS 7 went EOL, so did my repos, but I’m now working on a multimedia repo again (putting stuff in /opt/altmedia for the prefix this time to avoid any file conflicts) so I looked up mock in Fedora and the page I found says its instructions are outdated because of dnf -

Is there a modern resource I just can’t find with current mock setup instructions or has no one really updated the mock build guide since dnf took over? That seems quite awhile ago, as in years.

Is fedora just no longer considered to be a hobbyist playground distro? Do people not build their own packages anymore or do they just not use mock to do it?

I’ve got it working, I’ll post a link to my notes on what I did to get it working later (probably tonight) but at this point I have it working.
