Is my HP laptop too old for Fedora?

I need to ask for help from those who know hardware. I really want to keep enjoying my HP Beats laptop. I’ve put in a SSD and upgraded the RAM. Can’t do any more, but I enjoy the touchscreen on this laptop. I tried LinuxMint but that OS didn’t utilize the touchscreen well. I read about Fedora and its GNOME OS being very good for what I want to do.

My problem is that going from page to page takes a while. Loading more than 2 windows in the browser will have the 2nd window hang, instead of load.

Is my laptop not robust enough for Fedora, or do I have it configured wrongly?

I can’t say for certain. However, being an older CPU, you might want to try a lighter weight Desktop Environment. Perhaps try something like XFCE and see if it runs any better? You can use the Fedora version (Fedora Xfce | The Fedora Project) or perhaps XUbuntu (https://xubuntu.org/).

The specs should run Fedora properly. 16 GB of RAM is great, and the processor is 2013 but still pretty decent. Fedora will run on a Raspberry PI and other SBCs so you should be good!
I find that Gnome runs pretty well on all machines - in fact better than the ‘light’ XFCE.
Gnome has been having some upgrades and teething problems recently, you could try Fedora 42.

For a really light-weight desktop, use a Windows Manager such as the Fedora Sway Spin.
