Invisible "Bar" Blocks Access to Window Decorations / Buttons and Browser Tabs

Hey,

since upgrading Fedora 43 KDE to 44 KDE, I suddenly have something like an invisible bar at the top of my screen that blocks all mouse access.

It spans the complete width of my screen and is about 30 pixels high.

I just created a bug report for this but as none of my bug reports have ever been fixed I would simultaneously try to tap the crowd knowledge. :slightly_smiling_face:

It is present on every desktop, blocks standard window decorations completely, as it blocks most of the tab area in Firefox. It is thus totally annoying. Windows with standard window decorations I can just close using key combinations.

I tried to sketch it using a red rectangle:

Did you upgrade to F44 very recenly (like in the last 1-2 days), or earlier than that?

I ask because if this is a very recent upgrade, then you would have gone from Plasma 6.6 to 6.7 when upgrading, and maybe that’s where the problem lies.

That said, I don’t think this is a problem with Plasma 6.7 across the board, or we would have had more reports of it. Weird!

No, it’s already been a few weeks, but I didn’t find the time to address the issue. I’m still on version 6.6.5 (the current one a few days ago).

I’ll try an update to 6.7! :folded_hands:

If you create a new user on your device, and log in as that user, does the same issue occur?

Interesting, on a new user it works but re-appears as soon as I activate Krohnkite.

I already tested deactivating Krohnkite before, but I notice now that I really have to change the position of the windows in order to see an effect.

Nice! Seems to be fixed with a manual update to Krohnkite 0.9.9.2. The KDE-auto-update seems to be broken as the version is already over 6 months old.
