Hi, I am running Fedora 44 (Gnome) on my Dell Latitude 7450 (Ultra 5 125U). In the default Gnome Camera app, my built-in webcam (Intel IPU6 OVTI02E1) is being detected and I can see the camera output on my screen. It’s also working fine on Firefox and Chromium (without changing any browser settings), both of which are able to detect my camera, ask for permission to access it, and display the output stream just like the default Gnome Camera app or qcam does.
On Chrome however, starting a new Google Meet meeting / going to https://webcamtests.com/ and trying to turn my camera on results in a popup saying my camera was not detected. I tried fixing this by enabling the #enable-webrtc-pipewire-camera Chrome flag, but now starting a new Google Meet meeting results in a black window (the whole window, not the camera output) and I can’t even see any meeting controls. If I now go to https://webcamtests.com/ , it detects my camera but is then stuck on “Waiting for your permission…” without creating any popup asking for my camera permission.
The issue persists with other user installed apps as well. Discord and Zoom both detect my camera as “ipu6” but show a black screen for my camera output. What could be the issue here?
