Installed a different distro on a different drive, most of ./ was wiped

(this is yapping info that might not matter to others, but)
I recently installed Fedora 41, only to find out .NET 6 was discontinued, now this sucks for me because it meant i couldn’t play a game I really loved to play. So, with this info, i swapped back to fedora 40 without uninstalling fedora 41, just to see if it worked (it didnt, btw) and just forgot to reboot back into fedora 41. (end of yappatron info)
I’ve had the idea to install a different linux os in case fedora failed or was unbootable for any reason. i tried ubuntu, but that failed miserably. so after the yapping info, i tried installing lubuntu. it had worked, so i almost immediately tried to reboot into fedora. when trying to boot into fedora, it told me there were no os’s on the drive. i booted back into lubuntu only to find out that file and folder (besides the home and root folders and their contents) were ENTIRELY missing. I looked and looked for where i could find the folders that were missing, or someone who had experienced the same issue. I couldn’t find anyone else.
TL;DR:
I installed a different distro on a completely separate drive, and the majority of the folders in / were gone entirely.
