Problem
There is a problem in the installation process of Fedora 44 Workstation, which in some cases never completes the installation. The installer UI gets close to the end of the process - usually showing “Configuring installed system”, with a big spinner at the top - and stays like that forever.
Slow machines seem to have a much higher chance of encountering this than fast machines.

Workarounds
While the installation very often seems to be actually complete, and just the installer UI being stuck, we don’t recommend to use such a Fedora installation and rely on it, because it might be broken in subtle ways that are not immediately obvious.
Instead, you can try to install from the Fedora Everything network installer. It uses a different UI (GTK instead of web-based) and shouldn’t be affected by this bug. This install media uses a bit different defaults (e.g. the default partitioning scheme is different), but if you select the Fedora Workstation environment in Software Selection, your system should be very close to the regular Fedora Workstation installation.
