Installation process hangs at 4%

Hi!

I am trying to install Fedora 32 on an old HP Laptop (UEFI Bios).

I can boot up the Installation DVD, set the configuration parameters, and hit “Begin Installation”. After that, the file systems are being created. However, the installation hangs when displaying “Installing software 4%”. The busy indicator is still spinning, but no progress is made. I am terminating the process now, after two hours.

Any ideas, what might be wrong or what I could try?

Are you installing Fedora with a Live image or through Netinstall?

I am using a Live image. And, as it turns out: My laptop has a hard drive problem, and so the installation runs into an endless loop of I/O errors.
