In Case am not the only one, Second mornitor fullscreen windows Clipping offscreen but all the settings look ok

My second monitor optimal Resolution is 1280x1024 but my laptop only allows me to use 1024x768 max, it displayed correctly on arch and Zorin OS but on fedora it extended my second monitor display to the right off screen. The wallpaper seems to displays correctly but full screen windows are clipped off screen.

Initially I thought maybe I messed up my display config, But in truth the issue was much simpler. My monitor was just Auto Adjusting and I didn’t notice because it had never happened ever since I started using it.

After going through all the solutions I could find on similar or relate issues. I tried a simple debug, a default setting check on my monitor itself. After hitting the small Auto Adjust button, the issue was fixed.

anyways I only wrote this to help another traveler who might be lost as I was looking for a solution in internal software when it was in the external hardware I was diagnosing

Similar things often happen when using a TV as a monitor. The TV settings need to be appropriately adjusted as well.

and the funny thing is that,
if I didn’t figure it out, I was close to reinstalling the OS, which usually fixes most problems but not this. :rofl:

That is because the monitor/TV must accept the standard graphics that are sent from the system. Different display hardware requires different settings to properly display the same image.
