I’ve tried upgrading from 42 for a few times now and every time I restart to apply the update, the next boot gets stuck. The boot gets to that point where is the black screen with lil’ Fedora logo and a spin-wheel. From there, nothing happens. I’ve waited it to proceed for hours and once even over-night.
From other similiar-ish posts I’ve heard that it might be an driver issue, and made sure that I don’t have any excess drivers, force updated them and later force replaced them. And I have an AMD GPU so no Nvidia shenanigans this time. I’ve tried upgrading the system trough both Discover and terminal, but it makes no difference.
If you could provide more details on the errors, thatll be useful too. You can hit the escape key during the upgrade to see logs, and you can also do it during the next boot to see what error messages are shown when it gets stuck.
I follow the instructions on Fedora docs, and while downloading the packages etc. there is no problems. Here’s a pic of what is shown when hitting esc on the boot screen
Your screen capture shows error -17 for USB 1-3. You can try removing all non-essential USB devices. If you still get error -17, run lsusb in a terminal in the Live USB environment to find the problem device. With laptops the problem is often with a builtin device and may need a vendor-specific workaround or firmware update.
