IdeaPad 5 15ARE05 with AMD CPU/GPU problems

Having a fresh IdeaPad 5 15ARE05 with AMD CPU (AMD Ryzen 7 4800U) and GPU (AMD Renoir according to the GNOME control center), here are a few problems I’ve encountered:

• The backlight does not seem to be restored well and is quite bight
• As I’ve switched the NVMe SSD, the new one does not seem to be quite compatible with the Linux kernel and that leads to file system errors and crashes
• Sometimes when booting the touchpad and/or touchscreen are not usable. (it notices a mouse, however) Often, also the touchscreen is usable, but the touchpad is not. Rebooting usually helps…

I guess many of these issues are due to the fact that this uses a relatively recent AMD CPU/GPU…

New issue:

• when restoring then device from standby, it often cannot find/use the WiFi/WLAN anymore. It claims no wifi adapter is connected IIRC or so.

Sometimes when booting the touchpad and/or touchscreen are not usable. (it notices a mouse, however) Often, also the touchscreen is usable , but the touchpad is not. Rebooting usually helps…
