I want to upgrade to F45 for newer Thunderbird. Why, is attempting to, returning TB dependency resolution errors?

In lieu of an official Mozilla RPM repository, for Thunderbird, in order to confirm that some bugs are resolved in newer versions [1] I want to install #f45:

However, sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=44 [2] returns:

PS /home/beedell.roke_julian_lockhart> sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=45

Can I resolve this? I imagine that the FFMPEG incompatibility can be remediated by adding RPMFusion for Rawhide, but the Thunderbird incompatibility is more problematic, for it causes me to fear that, after I upgrade, I shan’t be able to install TB.

The error is because rawhide thunderbird has broken deps, it’s been like that for a few days.

rawhide cinnamon spin fails with the same issue.

Version 151 of Thunderbird is available at https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=39 for version 43, 44, and 45 of Fedora. Maybe that would work for you.

For what it’s worth, there’s an official Thunderbird Flatpak:

@vekruse, seeing the Koji 151 build for FC45 was what spurred me to try this, although I neglected to check the full build log, for other OS versions.

Any idea why, if builds exist for FC44, they aren’t being pushed to the update repository? (I’ve no idea of whether each of those have Bodhi listings, so I can’t tell…)

@vgaetera, thanks for that! IDK why I can never find the Bodhi URIs, but since it’s not complete yet, that at least gives me a good reason to test the RPM before its release. [1] Especially, because the official Flatpak is so painful to utilise:

An easy way is to go to bodhi Fedora Updates and type the package name in the upper right search tool. You’ll see a time sorted list of bodhi matches and their states. They however will be mixed with different Fedora releases, so you’ll see fc44, fc45, eln157, and other package releases. So it’s up to you to pick the fc44 ones or whatever for your case.
