HP Victus 15-fb0160nf Microphone not detected on Fedora 41 Workstation

Hello Fedora Community,

I’m having trouble with the microphone on my HP Victus 15-fb0160nf laptop running Fedora 41 Workstation. The microphone doesn’t seem to be detected at all, as if it’s not present in the system. I’ve searched through various forum topics and tried multiple troubleshooting steps, but I haven’t been able to resolve the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any suggestions on how to get the microphone working? Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Try running inxi -Fzxx and post the output here as preformatted text (highlight the pasted text then click the </> button on the toolbar).

Also run lspci -nnk and show us the part that is related to the microphone as well.

Once that info is available someone might be able to assist.

Thanks for your answer !

Thanks again for your help.

Others cannot find nor search images, as well as the storage being much larger than the same text. The output of both commands is well within the allowed text limits for posts here.

Please use the preformatted text method I gave for future posts.

I see nothing related to the microphone in that output.
Please post the output of lspci and lsusb as preformatted text

Thank you for clarifying. I’ve captured the outputs of both lspci and lsusb in preformatted text below, as requested. I don’t see anything specifically referencing the microphone, but please let me know if anything here is relevant or if there’s something else I should check.

Thanks again for your help.

The microphone does not show there either.
Maybe it can be seen with sudo dmesg as the system attempts to configure it and fails.

One thing that might be easier is to use a usb camera with mic. or a headphone with mic, or a separate mic. There are times where new devices do not yet have a functional driver and cannot be configured and this tends to indicate it may be one of those times.

Of course I thought about using a new mic (headset, etc.) but It’s quite annoying that my actual internal microphone doesn’t work (I don’t have any other for now)

Someone ?
