How to prevent the Anaconda Installer from creating a /boot partition when using 'automatic partitioning'?

Hi!I don’t want the Anaconda installer to create a /boot partition when using the ‘automatic’ partitioning. How can I modify the Anaconda installer configuration file so that it doesn’t create a /boot partition when using ‘automatic’ partitioning?

I think you will need to use ‘custom’ partitioning.

Edit: you actually want to modify the installer itself?

I just want to configure the Anaconda installer via its configuration file so that the Anaconda installer does not create a /boot partition when using automatic partitioning.

No you can’t do that you need use custom partitioning to achieve that what you want.Anyway installer will need /boot that mean you need to select that partition for must .:fedora_classic:

Is this to help with the distro you are looking at making?

Out of curiosity, what will you do to replace boot? I would have thought it was needed?

Perhaps kickstart can help you? Automating the Installation with Kickstart :: Fedora Docs

Yes.I plan to make a distro

If the root partition is unencrypted, /boot can just be a directory in it, it doesn’t need to be a separate partition.

With encryption I believe it’s still possible to do without a /boot partition, but more awkward.
