Hello, new Fedora user here! Waveform Tracktion 13 does not have an .rpm file available, so I downloaded the .deb and proceeded with the steps I’ve seen on other topics. I ran the following:
ar xv waveform_64bit_v11.1.0.deb sudo tar xvf data.tar.xz -C /
Seems to have installed correctly, but nothing is happening when I click on the shortcut it created. Also, running Waveform13 from the Terminal is producing this message: Waveform13: error while loading shared libraries: libjavascriptcoregtk-4.0.so.18: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I tried installing libjavascriptcoregtk-4.0.so.18 with sudo dnf install libjavascriptcoregtk-4.0.so.18, but no luck.
There is a flatpak available on flathub.
In the software app click on the hamburger menu and select “Software Repository”. On the bottom of the list it has the third party repositories. Check if flathub is activated. If not activate it and do a dnf upgrade --refresh.
Now you should be able to install in the software app.
Thanks, L.S.! I did see Waveform on Flathub, but unfortunately, it’s a few versions behind at version 11. The same goes for Reaper which is at version 7.15 but Flathub has 7.13.
I guess they want 99$ that you can see how it really works. Such kind of offers I do really like while I prefer stuff where it is opensource.
This might be also the reason while the version is not the newest one available as rpm!
