I wanted to develop a new, custom linux distribution but i wanted to do it with Wayland (Sway), it uses the system architecture (intel/amd/nvidia-X86_64-microcodes) also it will have to include at least 1300+ hacking tools for defensive security (defensive hacking) since it is a hacker framework for defensive-hacking
and might be based on Fedora Linux Workstation 43 (KDE-Plasma Desktop) and some other functionalities like Defensive Hacking edition for IP-Scans so, do someone else knows how to help me out?
LoL,so good hacker good luck !
Do you know how to help? i am trying to do everything like this in C++
I assume that 1300+ tools are from github and to be included to sway iso should be in rpm package build check with ‘dnf search ’ fedora repos maybe some of it already exist make list what is there . It’s possible make respin with included extra packages.
Yes, but i want to import them from ParrotSec-OS and then do a respin with Sway-X86_64.rpm for Fedora Linux Workstation 43 also i am going to do a full system customization for HomuraOS which will be the next respin for the F43 Workstation (HomuraOS Defensive Hacking/Defensive Security) Respin with 1300+ tools as my own hacker framework also it will includes some other functionalities as IP-Scans and many other utilities as well
Go with BSD then.
Jokes aside, why bother with whole distro since the upstream you choose is already a decent self sufficient OS? Simply create a single meta-package with all the stuff you have in mind as dependencies and keep it updated, leaving OS-thing to those who’s actually good at it.
Like i said good luck you don’t read what I wrote at all you just have idea that isn’t achievable
Fedora-Workstation is already the latest version installed from its repositories the (F43), also what do i need to do right now? should i package up with the Sway-ISO? Yes or no? also what do i need to do after that?
What will you call your distro?
Kali is mostly succesful due to the name.
How about Loki, Set or Mercury Linux?
Mercury Linux
If you install it that just install all tools but I have impression that you want live-sway.iso of course included tools etc …
I would like to add the Sway (Wayland) as the WM for Mercury-Linux as well as other GUIs (Graphical User Interfaces) too and why not include the 1300+ hacking tools inside the system?
The main reasons for not including so many tools is 1. they will repeat the needed features, 2. won’t be available in Fedora, and will have to be packaged which is a lot of work.
I doubt you would need more than a dozen tools to do 95% of what a thousand tools can do.
Yes a dozen tools will be enough in Mercury-Linux and they will do way more than what thousand tools could do, since i am aiming for a minimal but minimalistic like many minimalistic hacker linux distributions also i will include some system architecture dependencies and packages with it along many repositories with mirrors in the installation setup menu when the user installs even without network, it won`t need a network interface because it would create decentralized network tunnels when the installation is complete and then that is inside the system and it is not installation focused anymore
Why try and re-invent the wheel when something already exists?
Also, +1,300 tools? Why? Do you know how much packaging that would require, how many might be obsolete?
I think this is a very ambitious project but seems to me at least also rather unrealistic.
What use cases do you envisage, who would want such a distro?
Mercury-Linux is a project and it has to be a defensive security (defensive hacking) and hacking in general also it is under the hands of DiegoCyberTech (Me) and soon to be under development, also might be for IP_Recon, Network_Spoofing, including many other functionalities/methods that have not been ever tried or tested/known features as such as these
Do you know how to help with Mercury-Linux as it is a defensive-hacking (defensive-security) kind of linux distribution that i am currently willing to develop and that is still a project?
No one person knows everything you will need to build your distro.
If you can break down your topics into small chunks, and ask a question about each one, then you will be able to get the answers you are looking for.
A good start would be to write a document detailing you firm requirements, and your soft requirements.
You could have a look into Kickstart or Ansible as an initial way to deploy a list of packages and settings, on top of the Fedora Sway Spin, to make what essentially will be a new distro.
I am looking the Ansible Community and it is incredible on how the documentation there really helps installing ansible, i am really amazed by how it is that is mind blowing resource, i really liked it by the way what i should start on documenting up for mercury-linux?
A shared working space that we use at Fedora a lot is HackMD.
Another is Cryptpad.
You can put info there, and then allow others access to collaborate.
If you want to ask questions here, feel free. You could ask a question like “whats the best software for port scanning on Fedora?”
