How to choose firewall zone in Gnome Shell

How can the firewall zone be selected when creating a new (eg. WiFi) connection in Gnome Shell’s UI? I don’t see any related option through the Network or WiFi tabs accessed through gnome-control-center or the menu in the applet area.

In MATE, NetworkManager Applet, using nm-connection-editor, has a drop down selection for the firewall zone when either creating a new connection or editing an existing one.

There is also the option of using firewall-cmd or firewall-config, but that would be after the fact of creating a network connection.

Perhaps you need to talk to Gnome Developers to consider your experience. You could file a feature request against gnome-control-center. Otherwise, you already know other ways to solve your problem
